I Wonder
I was wondering if our home owners association would have a problem with our kids constantly using sidewalk chalk?
My wife thinks they would see it as a nuisance or some sort of graffiti and give us a hard time...
The more I think about it she's probably right, and if she was
Right, then how lame would that be?
One of the things that makes our neighborhood great is all
the little kids running around and playing... Signs everywhere... Bikes in the road, water guns laying around... Sidewalk drawings:)
These signs of life should be celebrated not looked down on. I love seeing our neighbors kids toys in our yard... It reminds me
that maybe most people are cool and normal.
Oh well, only time will tell. Until then, happy drawings!

WorshipTraining.com

I found a great website with lots of great resources for Worship Leaders. Here is an example of one of their team devotionals!
Hiding From God.
From Genesis 3 in The Message. “When they heard the sound of God strolling in the garden in the evening breeze, the Man and his Wife hid in the trees of the garden, hid from God. God called to the Man, ‘Where are you?’"
Many of us are still hiding from God. As worship leaders, our place is to provide a meeting place with God, where the many or the few can gather, and ‘come out of hiding’ before God. When we create that place of encounter, with words and music that draw the soul from its clandestine struggles, we give people the opportunity to touch the healing power of God.
Team Prayer: Jesus, help me to consistently create a place in worship where people can come out of hiding before You, and be healed.

NC Here We Come
Today is our final packing day as we get ready to start a new season in our lives. We will be moving to Durham, NC this Monday and we will be starting our new and exciting ministry season at Newhope Church in Durham.
While we are excited about moving, we are also finding it hard to say goodbye to our friends and family. We
know that God is guiding us so we also trust Him for our future and new relationships.
Thank you to everyone who has been on out side encouraging and praying for us as we walk through these new doors.
We pray that our paths will continue to entwine as we grow and learn into the future.
We love you all and greater things are to come!

This Is Day
Making the Most of Today
(This devotional was written by Jim Burns)
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. —Psalm 118:24
Today you were handed from God 24 hours to live life to the fullest. That's 1440 minutes or 86,400 seconds. Sometimes we get so busy and distracted we miss the fact that each rising, sun brings new opportunities and adventures on this planet we call Earth. God gives us one new day at a time so that we aren't distracted by the future or paralyzed by the past. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Make the most of today. Enjoy God's gift to you. You can accomplish a great deal with the 1440 minutes in a day. Today stop and take advantage of all that God has provided for you. Here are a few suggestions:
Tell someone you love him/her.
Write a kind note to a friend.
Stop and enjoy the sunset.
Take 20 minutes of the 1440 you have today and talk to God.
Memorize this verse: "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

The Walk Is Part Of the Gift
There is a Native American story about a schoolboy who appreciated his teacher and wanted to give her a gift she would enjoy. He knew that his teacher loved seashells. One weekend, the boy walked to the ocean—a twenty-mile distance—found a beautiful shell and walked back home. Monday morning, the boy gave his teacher the shell. She thought it was beautiful. It took a moment, but then it dawned on her what the boy had gone through in order to give her the gift. She asked the boy, "You mean you walked all that way to the ocean and back just to give me this shell?" The boy looked at his teacher, and with a tear in his eye, he said, "The long walk is part of the gift."
It can be tremendously easy to gloss over the suffering of Jesus, even while believing in His sacrificial death on our behalf. I confess that I over the years, I have become desensitized to the words of the gospels describing what Jesus went through. It's as if my mind passes quickly over Jesus' suffering and moves to the resurrection. The resurrection, of course, is the "feel good" part of the story! Everyone loves a happy ending! And we know that the "good news" of Jesus' resurrection is the ultimate happy ending! Yet, we would do well to linger a bit more on the Scriptures that tell the story of the pain and agony He undertook on our behalf to provide us with the gift of a restored relationship with God.
We must never forget nor take for granted Jesus' suffering as — "the long walk is part of the gift." As the prophet Isaiah foretold, "By his wounds, we are healed." Today, may we gain a fresh understanding of the extent and cost of God's love.

Look Back!
It's funny but every now and then when I am holding my daughter, she looks back to make sure it's still me...
Isn't it the same thing we do with God? Even though we know that He has promised not to leave our side, we still find ourselves glancing back every now and then to make sure He's still there... And to our amazement, He still is! He was there yesterday, He is here today, and He will be here tomorrow too:)
Thank you Lord for being here always... even when I deserve to be left:)

The Door
Sam Shoemaker sat down to write his philosophy of life, and he penned this work of prose:
I stand by the door. I neither go too far in, nor stay too far out. The door is the most important door in the world- It is the door through which men walk when they find God. There's no use my going way inside, and staying there, When so many are still outside and they, as much as I, Crave to know where the door is. And all that so many ever find is only the wall where a door ought to be. They creep along the wall like blind men, with outstretched, groping hands. Feeling for a door, knowing there must be a door, yet they never find it... So I stand by the door. The most tremendous thing in the world is for men to find that door-the door to God.*

My Little Princess

They grow up fast. Our little Ella Grace is sporting her new "6-12" month attire. She's only 4 months old... I know, our babies love to eat. I hope I can enjoy these moments every day...
I know one day soon I will turn around
And see her in a wedding gown
...but for now I will cling to every poopy diaper I can!

Turning Over A New Leaf
As we walked onto the course Noah discovered a big brown leaf. One quite a bit bigger than the usual 2 inch ones he finds laying around the yard. But this one was intriguing to him. It was HUGE! His interest in his new found glory was so strong that he carried around for the duration of our play date. And then finally he tried to eat it:)
Funny how we find such great pleasure in simple and new things. I hope and pray that everyday of my life I discover something new enough to inspire me, much like my son was today. Faith like a child...
Matthew 18:33
Then he said, "I tell you the truth, you must change and become like little children. Otherwise, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. "

First Family Night Out

Well, we had our first ever Family (of four) Night out tonight as we celebrated Jackie's brother, Markie, coming home from Iraq. We took the family out for the first time ever to Bone Fish Grill in West Palm. The food was excellent and the family fun was even better. Noah was very well behaved and he also enjoyed drinking from a straw. It hasn't figured out the "sippee" cup concept yet, but he seems to understand how to drink like a "Big Boy' through Daddy's straw:)
Our two little angels were amazing and we really enjoyed ourselves. I thank God for the blessings He has given us over and over.
