Ella Grace Update

Ella's 5th Spinal Tap was a success thanks to the expertise of Dr. McIntyre and a great Nursing Staff at Joe Dimaggio's Children Hospital and all of your precious prayers.

Today, we will probably learn more about any possible infections but everything is starting to look good for our Princess. Stay posted for more updates.

It's nice to know Ella Grace is in great hands! The staff at JDCH truly are amazing and genuinely caring. A Special thanks to them too.

Ella Grace Slideshow#1

Thank you everyone for all your thoughts & prayers for Ella and our family. We feel your love and the power of God upon us. We are hoping to bring Ella home soon from Joe Dimagio's Children's Hospital. They are still not sure what is causing the seizure like symptoms but they have managed to control them with Phenylbarbitol.

She is physical great and mommy & I have been able to feed her a few times a day.

We know God has a great plan for her life and are excited to bring her into our family really soon.

The song in this slide show is by Shane & Shane and is an amazing tribute to the fact the God's love & grace for us is ALL we need. It's called "Your Grace Is Sufficient For Me"

For our Ella "Grace"...

Dust on the Bible

I love the new tabs my wife got me for my Bible. It makes it that much easier to read.

The world tries to pull us away again and again...

...but rest assured, God's WORD is alive today, yesterday and forever!

Does Your Life Have Rhythm

Rhythm (from Greek ???ยต??rhythmos, "any measured flow or movement, symmetry") is the variation of the length and accentuation of a series of sounds or other events.

As a musician, I am always analyzing the importance of Rhythm in a particular musical piece. And equally as important as the notes that ARE there, are the notes that ARE NOT there. We call them "RESTS". Music without rest would just be a chaotic jumbled mess of sound. It is the REST or the "space between the notes" that make great songs.

The same is for our lives. We run so fast, that if we don't have the properly placed REST then our lives begin to resemble a chaotic mess. Pastor Troy shared with the staff this week that God left instructions for the RHYTHM of life..

GEN 2:3 "And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done."

Some people call it the "Sabbath" but what it really comes down to is "RHYTHM"... our lives need rhythm and God knew it. He did not rest because He needed it, He rested because He knew that WE would need it.

RHYTHM adds strength, power and energy to our lives. Work, work, work, rest... Work, work, work, rest... Work, work, work, rest... this is the pattern that God has modeled for us. Will we follow?

Let us find great balance in our lives.... let's leave some space in the margins to let God fill us up. Let's take care of our minds and bodies so that we can accomplish what God has intended for us.

Let's find the "space between the notes"...

Peace

Technology!!!

It's so cool to see how far technology has come. I remember growing up watching Star Trek and when they would video conference each other from different ships I would think... WOW!! How cool would it be to do that.

Well, low and behold, only a few decades later, the 6 of us as Worship Pastors are able to "log in" to tokbox.com and instantly be in conversation with each other from miles apart. What an amazing time to be alive. I wonder what the future holds...

Believe it or not, we are actually able to accomplish a lot this way. Great conversations that would otherwise take hours of planning and traveling. Just think of all the gas we're saving:) and get this... It's totally FREE!!!! (for now at least)

Baby's Got a Brand New Chair

I know that the simple things are starting to seem most exciting in my life right now but it's like they say... "The best things in life are free"

Noah got a new chair today(it wasn't free) that allows him to "sit" up right for as long as he wants(priceless). Now he really feels like a big boy.

I never get sick of looking at his pictures. He really is a Gerber baby. I love him so much. Know mommy can at least get a little rest from having to hold him all day:)

Running On Empty

This is an actual picture of my Gas Gauge this morning at 5:55 on my way to LA Fitness. I actually found myself praying... "Dear God, one more mile please..."

Although it would have been my own fault, and I could have gotten gas easily the night before, I just kept putting it off. Fortunately God answered my prayers and I was able to cruise into the gas station and 'fil her up! But, I could have just as easily been walking in the humid, dark Florida rain to get a bucket of Gas.

How bout you? Where's your gauge... is it below "E"... or are you filled up?

This morning I realized that maybe I let my tank run to low Spiritually. Maybe I am putting off God until the last minute. And even though I'm still going... maybe my system could use a boost of fresh clean spiritual Gasoline.

Isaiah 40:31

"but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Where Do You Get Your Music?

As a Worship Pastor, one question that I am often asked is "Where can I find the songs that you guys do?". While there is no simple answer, I love the question because it usually means that someone is desiring to take their personal time of worship to a new level. There is something amazing about just listening to great worship on your own in your car, at home or in your bed with headphones. God speaks to us in many ways and it's a great way to get scripture and spiritually challenging content into your subconscience.

Most the time, it is best to seek Worship Songs based by artist. This is the easiest and most assuring way to find something you like. For example, there may be 200 versions of "How Great Is Our God", but some of them may not suit your listening preference. So it may be best to search for Chris Tomlin's version since he put it on the map. Then once you find that, you may like many of his other songs. A great website (besides iTunes of course) to search by Artist is WorshipMusic.com . There you can find many, many artists and styles. You can also sample most of the titles before buying.

If you are brand new to Worship music, let me first say welcome to the new adventure! As you incorporate this music into your playlists and lifestyle, you will SOON notice an incline in your spiritual barometer and you will begin feeling uplifted and powerful through what Christ has done for us. I am excited for you because I've been there... Just be ready to be challenged, inspired and joyful!

Enjoy:)

The Many Faces of Peas...

Tonight, our son, Noah, got his first real taste of actual food. Gerber Peas...
A picture is worth a thousand words and it was probably just as cool for Jackie & I to watch as it was for him to eat. He loved it! They were gum licking good:)

We're young, Then we're old... Ever wonder why?

Ever wonder why we get old, and slowly begin to weaken? Why life seems so short? Well I stumbled across this beautiful devotional today and found it very uplifting. Maybe the circle of life just got demystified:)

“I think God has planned the strength and beauty of youth to be physical. But the strength and beauty of age is spiritual. We gradually lose the strength and beauty that is temporary so we’ll be sure to concentrate on the strength and beauty which is forever. And so we’ll be eager to leave the temporary, deteriorating part of us and be truly homesick for our eternal home. If we stayed young and strong and beautiful, we might never want to leave.”

When we are young, happily occupied with all our relationships and activities, we may not long for our celestial Home. But as time passes, we may find ourselves without family and friends, afflicted with dim vision and hearing difficulties, no longer able to relish food, or troubled by sleeplessness.

Be grateful that, as the apostle Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 6:17, “God . . . gives us richly all things to enjoy” in life’s summer and autumn. And rejoice too that with the onset of life’s winter we can anticipate that we’ll soon be living in the land of eternal spring. —Vernon Grounds (ODB)

Goal Setting

As I am reading a new book on writing, I stumbled across an amazing quote on setting goals. Goals are so important by why is it so hard sometimes to achieve them? Well this criteria should clear things up a bit. I know that it sure opened my eyes.

Two Rules for Effective Goal Setting:

•Make sure it's something you want to do.
•Make sure it's something that's within your control.
(If it's beyond your control it's a WISH not a GOAL.)

WOW. I have a few things to rethink but I am excited about it now more than ever.

Finding Sleep

My new son is adorable... isn't he? But you know... I think he is tracking my sleep patterns and trying to do the EXACT opposite:) It seems when my wife and I are trying to sleep, he is trying to be awake. And when we are awake, he is trying to sleep.

Is this normal?

"I Knew I Loved You"

Being a dad has already changed everything. Now it has hit me where at a whole new passion... music.

I put this slideshow together of Noah's hospital journey and I had to add this song. This was the first song I heard with him while I was waiting at the OB for Jackie this afternoon. I just starred at him as he slept in his stroller and thought about the words.

Noahs Slide Show from FRC Sawgrass on Vimeo.
I actually cried and the lyrics hit me for the first time from a new perspective. Wow... I will never listen to this song the same way again!

Prov 16:9

Proverbs 16:9
"In his heart a man plans his course,
but the LORD determines his steps."

It's going to be an amazing journey as we watch Noah draw close to God as he grows.

Like Pastor Troy always says... "today's answer for tomorrow's problem."

God has knit Noah together to do great things through Christ. I can't wait to watch him learn about God, grow in Christ and become a man of God.

Noah is finally here. Friday the 13th turned out to be the luckiest day of our lives. How ironic:)

Noah arrived at 5:50 PM via c-section after hours and hours of labor.

Jackie is recovering now and doing well. Thank you for your prayers and support. We are excited about our new journey and Noah can't wait to meet you!

So far, he is extremely cute and peaceful. He doesn't cry much, but he does look around a lot and he is enjoying mammas milk already.

We feel very blessed to have him home:)

Contractions:The Big One!!!

Wow! Noah is almost here and my wife is a real trooper!!! We are currently in the Hospital Labor room and she has been fighting contractions since early this evening.
The above picture shows what pain looks like... The Flat black line means that it goes over the threshold... in other words... OUCH!!!

So far everything is on track but she is really hanging in there! The nurse just administered a little pain medication to help her rest but I'm not sure how well it is working.

It looks like Noah will be joining us some time Friday afternoon. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!

Starbucks Secret Ingredient!!!BEST RECIPE EVER!!!!!

From time to time, because I am not only a Worship Pastor, but also a Culinary Expert(I know it sounds imperious but I can't think of any other terms...)I enjoy posting recipes or things that I am frequently asked about.

Today I post an extremely REVEALING post about the latest craze.... STARBUCK's OATMEAL!!!!!

That's right, after long research and hours in the kitchen I have discovered EXACTLY what Starbucks is doing to sway people into purchasing HIGH-END oatmeal. I know I may be treading dangerous legal waters by posting this TOP-SECRET recipe but I feel it is my duty to all citizens of this great planet....

So here it is.... How you can DUPLICATE PRECISELY the EXACT same methodology that is currently driving America crazy!!!!

RECIPE FOR OATMEAL.

1. Add H2o to pan(I have opted for the Elemental Chart name to avoid confusion)
2. Turn Range On(this is a culinary term for your stove, don't use it lightly)
3. Purchase Oatmeal(The FCCDA recommends doing this prior to turning on your stove)
-The FCCDA has also required me to tell you that they do not exist and that I made up those initials. I'm sure it sounds legit, but you can't trust everything you read!
4. Add Oats to Water(I cannot emphasize the importance of this step)
5. For added flavor, you can add HONEY... (Sidenote: You can attain fresh HONEY from any BEE... I'm not sure what kinds of bees actually produce it more often but for the sake of this discussion I will refer to them as "Honeybees"... I know, I know... that's probably not the right term...but trust me,, I'm sure any "honeybee" will be glad to give some to you...)

Well there it is.... Remember... like any good RECIPE.... this may take some practice to actually produce something delectable and decadent! But keep trying...
I BELIEVE IN YOU!!!

I have attached some visual aids to help those who need more inspiration than just a long set of boring instructions...

Thank You
Chef Pastor Fuller

disclaimer:this recipe is bogus and this entire blog has been made up from my imagination. I have never tried Starbucks Oatmeal because the truth is, I am intimidated by the price. Plus I can't decide if I want nuts or Brown Sugar...
But I highly recommend their fantastic espresso!!!!

I Think I'm Going To Boston???

I heard an interesting song at the Gym today and the lyrics were very fantastic...One of those songs that can inspire change... but then I thought... How do you really turn over a new leaf in life? The singer speaks of starting a new life in a new city where "No one knows my name"....(I'll ignore the pun on CHEERS here)

Although it seems adventurous and exciting... I am reminded that if we don't change from the inside first... soon we'll be singing... "I think I'm Going to Kansas... then Chicago... then Nashville..." You see you can run but you can't hide.

True change must start today... and it must start inside of us. And hey, if a change of scenery helps... do that too!!

BOSTON- by Augustana
"I think I’m going to Boston
I think I’ll start a new life
I think I’ll start it over
No one knows my name
I’ll get out of California
I’m tired of the weather
I think I’ll get a lover
I’ll fly ‘em out to Spain

I think I’m going to Boston
I think that I’m just tired
I think I need a new town
To leave this all behind
I think I need a sunrise
I’m tired of the sunset
Here it’s nice in the summer
Some snow would be nice"

11/9/7-Behind The Music!

"The One Thing" from FRC Sawgrass on Vimeo.

Perhaps one of my most nerve racking moments of life was on November 9th, 2007 at my wedding reception... I was going to sing Jackie this song called "The One Thing" by Paul Coleman but it took all that was within me to not talk myself out of it... I was so NERVOUS!!! But I did it and it was a very memorable experience... unfortunately, no one was there to capture it on film... but we did manage to catch my pregame warm-ups in the green room:)

Thanks Heredes for capturing this moment for us... and more importantly hanging on to it for 14 months!!!

We thought all memories of this moment were gone until now. And thanks to Ricky for supplying the stellar BGV's!!!

Why don't they make Mouse Flavored Catfood?

I found this funny post on "theStraightDope.com"... very interesting...

...Just in case you're serious, consider that: (1) A cat fending for itself in the wild hunts mice not necessarily because of the irresistible taste but because that's what's around to be caught. If it had any chance of landing a tuna, it might well give the mice a pass. (2) A cat that's fed by humans hunts mice because it's (a) instinctive and (b) fun. And, crucially, (3) what goes into the average can of cat food has at least something to do with what's left over after they make the human food, and for whatever reason mouse meat has never really won many fans at the top of the food chain.
