"Turn Around, Turn Around"
I'm reminded of an old song with the following lyrics:
---------
"Where are you goin' my little one, little one?
Where are you goin' my baby my own?
Turn around and you're two
Turn around and you're four
Turn around and you're a young girl
Going out the door
Turn around and you're tiny
Turn around and you're grown
Turn around and you're a young wife
With babes of your own"
---------
Every time I "turn around" it seems that life is passing by. Christmas has come and gone. Wow, it seems to go by so fast. I had a great time this year trying to take it all in but it seems just like yesterday I was getting married... and now my wife and I are decorating our nursery for "Noah"'s arrival in Feb 15th... Not many "turn arounds" in between:)
I pray that my son doesn't grow up to quickly and that I can slowly take in all the wonders that God has planned for our lives.
Be careful how fast you turn around, or you may miss it:)

No Bones About It!!!
This is perhaps my most naked post...
Matter of fact, it is an extreme inside look of why my back hurts so bad right now and I can hardly walk!!!
Looks like I'll be out of commission for a while. No running... no lifting...(Sorry Sawgrass peeps... looks like you're going to have to do a little more than your share for the next few weeks:)
This is what it looks like after you twist and turn and try to stop a basketball from going out of bounds. Well, I may exaggerate a bit, because according to my Chiropractor, Dr. Rush, I was born with a slight curve in my back that has now led to some disk deterioration. Although the X-ray does not exaggerate, this is some crazy stuff!!!
Fortunately for me, I will be able to correct about 75% of it through treatment and rehab... but for now, I can't stand up straight.
But wow!!! It just goes to show you how important it is to keep an eye on this stuff.
Please pray for me as I learn how to "Take it easy"... and strength train my lower back more.
Peace out

It's not just for Coffee Anymore!!!
Want to sweeten up your holiday season this year!
Here's something I've been doing lately. I call it my "Winter Wonderland Peppermint Coco".
Coffeemate is not just good in coffee but it is also fantastic in a variety of drinks. Anytime you want to add a "fuller" flavor(pun intended) you can kick up a normal hot chocolate with some Coffeemate Creamer Peppermint Mocha. Here's what I use:
8oz steamed Milk
3 tablespoons Peppermint Mocha Creamer
3 Tablespoons Hershey's Coco Powder
Top with Whip Cream and Coco Powder and Hershey's Chocolate Syrup
Enjoy!
I will have many of these between now and December 25th!
Merry Christmas

Marketing 101
In a world full of fancy signs, web-based mailing lists, and multi-million dollar spending campaigns, one thing is for sure...
Sometimes you just gotta give people what they want. This sign at a BBQ place in Lakeland, Florida says it all. This brilliant marketing piece moved me to try the Mac & Cheese...
It was good. It was worth it. I was happy.
Do you need to re-think your marketing strategy?
Or do you need to just get a better product?

Oh Boy!!!
Jackie and I found out something today that we'll never forget... Baby Fuller is a BOY!
That's right. And if you don't believe me you can look for yourself:)
We are so happy that God has entrusted us to be parents. I'm sure we have no idea what is ahead for us... but 2 things are for sure:
1. God is in control
2. We can head in the direction of BLUE
God Bless

How To Cook A Rib-eye!
The other day a friend asked me what is the best way to cook a rib-eye. It took me back to culinary school and I remember one of the head chef's responding to a similar question. The answer goes a little something like this...
A: Olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic.
Sounds simple but the truth is any time you are using a high quality piece of steak, like a Rib-eye, it's better to let mother nature bring out her own flavors. The salt and garlic will add a hint of depth and the pepper will add a touch of spice. The oil will keep the meat from burning and will also help the spices adhere.
I know it sounds simple but it's true. Now if you want to go crazy, by all means, you can add tons of ingredients and marinades, but it all comes back to the steak. If I'm eating a $35 steak, I dont want to be left with the memory of Cumin or Onions...
Just my 2 cents...
Also, one other tip to save you tons of frustration and guesswork... Purchase a meat thermometer... It will ensure the perfect cook every time and you don't have to destroy the meat.

I Once Was Blind...
This past weekend I was visiting family in South Carolina with my wife Jackie. I had the opportunity to visit the church that I was saved in almost 25 years ago!
Victory Baptist Church in Beaufort, SC. It was interesting to see that from the outside, not much has changed. Still in full effect, they even have the same signs they did when I was there from 81-84. But it was awesome to think that even though the building hasn't changed much, minus a few paint jobs, a LOT has changed in and around me.
I'll never forget the day I decided to pray with our principal in the pews when I was 8 years old. I was so ready to accept Christ as my savior. And then later that weekend I was baptized. Even though I was young, I knew I needed Christ. I couldn't imagine going through life without having Him in my heart. After all, he died for me.
So now, I see my nephew Jacob, attending the same school, and experiencing God's love to the same degree I did. It's cool to know that their legacy continues. And who knows what God has done through the thousands of folks that have passed through those walls.
I thank God for a firm foundation. And I am thankful for all the staff and teachers who have sacrificed through the years to provide a "safe", Christ-centered place for children to grow and learn about God's love. (despite slapping our wrists a few times when we go astray... ouch... I still remember that too!)

POTENTIAL!!!BABY FULLER IN THE HOUSE
Potential is a funny thing... it's not until you look back later that you can tell whether or not you reached yours! But God, puts things(and people) in our lives to help us "monitor" our potential so that when we do look back... we won't be surprised at our results.
When I saw the The Fuller Baby sonogram this morning... I couldn't help but see the "potential"... A little human... part me... part Jackie... wholly belonging to God. Now only a small (kidney bean sized according to the picture) life form but soon to be a passionate, emotional, thought provoking person. My daughter(or son)... a reflection of who we are as parents and Christ followers.
I pray that my wife and I are "monitors" for the God potential of our child. I pray that we exemplify Christ through all we do, so that our child can grow up and be God Fearing and excited about Jesus! And I pray that as you read this... you too will continue on a path to reach your God potential and one day look back and see God's fingerprints all over your life!
In Him

I Smell A Rat!
Doing church in a Movie Theatre has it’s own unique set of challenges and adventures….
‘Twas this past Sunday morning, as our set up team began unrolling our rugs for stage … Pastor Matt Miller noticed an “akward” smell. I too noticed and quickly began examining the area for possible causes… you never know what could have been left from the previous night of rambunctious Theatre Attendees… an old hot dog?… a half eaten nacho?… perhaps an unfinished burger?… to our shocking surprise; none of the above!
As I unrolled the final rug, the smell beckoned me to a small, dead furry creature resting peacefully in the grasp of the (from this point on known as) Sawgrass Stage Rug#3…That’s right! ‘Twas a Dead Mouse… I wish I could describe to you this awful retchedness… but my adjectives are few to do justice to it. Let’s just say, a few of us almost hurled!
Anyway, long story short, I escorted the Carcass of our once furry friend to the exit(by foot not hand) and needless to say… We may need to make room in our Budget for a New Stage Rug…
The smell is now gone…. but let this blog be a tribute to “The Sawgrass Mouse”… at least he died in a church :)

I Love To Worship
I was trying to think of something to blog about today and nothing really spectacular came to mind... so I thought I would share just what's been on my heart lately.
I LOVE TO WORSHIP...
Why does this matter? Well because I haven't always felt this way. I spent a lot of my life "being" a Christian, but only in the past few years have I fallen in love with worshiping Jesus.
Do you love to worship? If not, maybe you should think about who Christ is.... for real! Who He is to you... no one else. Fall in love with Him today! It's not too late. Learn how to Worship him...
A great book to read is "The God You're Looking For" by Bill Hybels

Power Of Prayer - How do I tap into it?
Prayer is a very powerful thing. Today we gathered in our sanctuary to lift up Pastor Troy and his mother, Linda, who will be in surgery as we speak. What a great thing to know that the power belongs to God, not us and we can fully rely on Him for His comforting grace and mercy in our lives. We know that He still moves stones! But where does this power come from? I found out today...
The power of prayer is not the result of the person praying. Rather, the power resides in the God who is being prayed to. 1 John 5:14-15 tells us, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him."
No matter the person praying, the passion behind the prayer, or the purpose of the prayer - God answers prayers that are in agreement with His will. His answers are not always yes, but are always in our best interest. When our desires line up with His will, we will come to understand that in time. When we pray passionately and purposefully, according to God's will, God responds powerfully!
Peace

Make Yourself New
Fifteen years ago I got this awesome guitar that made me feel like a Rock Star! It was top of the line and it was bad to the bone. It had all the bells and whistles. About 3 months ago, I realized that I haven't played it in 6 years. Why?
I'm not sure, I guess because it was run-down, beat-up and outdated. But what happened to it? ...I guess time did.... time happened to it.
Sometimes we find ourselves the same way, beat-up and useless... but the good news is that God has promised us a permanent "restoration"... He makes us beautiful every day... the more we trust in Him, the more He polishes and shines us.
Some of us need a little more work than others but it's never too late to allow Christ to bring us back to life....
Ephesians 4:22-24
"You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."
Last night I started to bring my old guitar "Back to life"... I have stripped all the hardware and paint and I am going to make this old guitar what it once was:Top of the line....No matter how long it takes! Because I know it can still fulfill the exact purpose it was designed to do... rock out some worship to the King of Glory!!! I haven't lost hope in this guitar, and God hasn't lost hope in you. Let him strip you down and rebuild what only he can!

What does "Hosanna" mean?
"What does the word hosanna mean?"
In the New Testament, Jesus entered into Jerusalem as their King, riding on a donkey's colt."
...And the multitude that went before and that followed cried saying, 'Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest'." And, later on that day, when Jesus was in the temple, the courtyard of the temple was full of children crying out, "Hosanna to the son of David."
This made the priests very angry. They wanted Jesus to stop the children's mouths, and they said to Him, "Don't you know what these little ones are saying?"
Jesus answered, "Yes, haven't you ever read, 'Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings thou has perfected praise'? Jesus quoted this from Psalm eight.
What made the Priests so angry was that they knew very well what Hosanna meant and where it came from. It is a quote from Psalm 118 and verse 25.
Hosanna is a prayer that can only be said to Jehovah. These children were calling Jesus the Son of David and Jehovah, just as Jeremiah had done in Chapter 23, verses 5 and 6. Hoasanna means, "Save us! please!"
-Since we, as believers are already saved and redeemed, it is an echo of our gratitude to God, a thanks to Him in worship for rescuing us.
Join our Sawgrass
team this weekend as we lift up His name "Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest"

Celebration in Diversity
Donaldo Harris laid down the law this weekend as he wrapped up Pastor Troy's message on hope and diversity. I was fired up by Donaldo's story and how God has answered his prayers on finding a diverse church! It is so cool to see how God is bringing together people from different backgrounds and different cultures to worship Him with one voice.
Way to go Donaldo, and thanks for challenging us which "Each one, brings one".

Great Moments in Culinary History
"The Switch"- frowned upon by many restaurants due to it's ability to
offer the clients a way to satisfy many appetite needs, the switch is
when 2 people agree to order different items and trade halves thus
allowing each person to enjoy "double" the pleasure without "double"
the price! Way to go you sly devils!!!! You are my Heros....Matt and
